Q: Kabiyesi in summary your profile sir?
A: I started my career as an information technology expert, telecom space to be specific in Netherland before I decided to return to my fatherland as a machanised farmer. I pick interest in agriculture because my Late father was an educationalist and still engage in agriculture.
He was into commercial cocoa plantation and I acquired a lot of experience during this period, coupled with the fact that during my youth corps days, I was exposed to the real core of agriculture.
I established the first green house in Ibido-Ogbo, to use the initiative to create job opportunities and boost the economy.
Q: Before your coronation as the monarch, have you being adding value to your father's land
A: Yes I have contributed a lot particularly in the area of Agricultural initiative for food security and job creation and I will not relent on my oars.
I invited medical practitioners to the community to provide free health scheme for the people because health is wealth.
I also took a step further to grade all the inner roads in the community so that the people could access motorable roads at all times. I believe that, If you are blessed by God you also must be a blessing to your immediate environment.
I have brought in professionals to measure all our road network in the community to know the cost of constructing drainages and the entire road network, we also approach Ogun - Osun River Basin Authority for project execution in my domain.
Having said that, Nigeria has a large market and it is imperative for us to key into this by attracting more investors to boost the socio- economic well-being of the people and put our youth at vantage position of job Security.
We have also visited the Local Government and encourage them to undertake projects that will have direct impact on the people and I believe strongly that these initiatives will see the light of the day.
Q: How are you preserving and protecting the culture and tradition of your people?
A: The major focus of any traditional ruler is to protect the culture and tradition of his people and this I will continue to do within the available resources in my disposal.
So part of plan put in place to preserve our rich cultural heritage, led to the conceptualisation of the annual Ibido Day festival so as to bring our people together and further create the much needed platform to promote our values and traditions.
Ibido-Ogbo has been existing before the British invaded the shore of Africa, we have our history, Cultural norms and values and efforts will be made to preserve them.
I am fully determined to protect the interest of my people at all times by introducing new ideas that will reshape the history of our fatherland.
In the history of Ijebuland, Ibido-Ogbo is expected to play a critical role towards the coronation of a new Awujale and I believe strongly we will be able to select a credible candidate that will build on the solid Legacies of his predecessors in office.
